We love these delicious breakfast omelettes! Great for kid cooks and perfect when cooking for large groups!

Now I’ll tell you, food purists may find these as blasphemous compared to the skilled art of a traditional omelette which I understand. We still love these, however, and it is great fun for the kids to help out with breakfast and they taste awesome. Each person can write their name on a bag and each omelette can be customized to a family member. Best of all, they can all be cooked at the same time! Perfect for glamping!

Instructions
  1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot. The amount of water needed will vary based on the number of omelettes being made. Make sure you have enough water in the pot so omelettes will be submerged once they are dropped in.
  2. Crack two eggs into a freezer bag and push all of the air out prior to sealing the bag. If you are cooking on your own, you may find pushing the bag into a jar or measuring cup a handy trick.
  3. Squeeze the bag until the eggs have been beaten and then open the bag to put in half of the chopped ham and half of the chopped veggies. You can also add the salt and black pepper to taste and then reseal the bag, once again pushing the air out.

  4. Repeat the steps for the next bag and then gently place into the boiling water. Boil the bags until the eggs have set up which is 10 to 15 minutes or so.
  5. Remove the bags using tongs and once the bags can be safely handled, open a bag and roll the omelette out onto a plate. You can eat the omelette as is or garnish with your favorite toppings.

Recipe Notes

If you like breakfast burritos, cook some large tortillas while the omelettes are boiling and then roll the omelette out into a tortilla for a fantastic breakfast burrito! You can also add whatever ingredients to your omelettes you like such as mushrooms and tomatoes.
