Prep your ribs as normal by removing any membranes and trimming fat off you don’t want. Cut so they fit into a large stockpot.
Place ribs in the stockpot and pour the entire 2L of Dr. Pepper into the stock pot. Add the garlic, liquid smoke, and onion.
Bring the pot to a boil and then turn down to simmer until the ribs are tender which takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Place ribs in baking pan and smother with the BBQ sauce of your choice and then bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. You can also forgo the oven and move the ribs to the grill which is my preference.
