Mesa Verde RV Resort
Exceptional Resort On The Doorstep Of The Ancients
Located half a mile from the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park sits the amazing Mesa Verde RV Resort. This clean and cozy park offers several amenities for glampers and campers alike. Clean bathrooms, laundry facility, two hot tubs, and a swimming pool are just a start to the charm of this amazing resort!
We have stayed in many a park over the years ranging from what consisted of dirt parking lots to sites in national forests. It has been rare for us to find a park with numerous amenities along with mature trees to shade our site like we did at Mesa Verde RV Resort. We could tell when we first pulled in that the owners Mike and Liz Lowe took pride in their resort and were passionate about taking care of their guests. With full hook-up sites, cabins, and tent sites; this RV resort has accommodation options for just about everyone.
As previously mentioned, Mesa Verde RV Resort was built for comfort and convenience. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Not surprising, the laundry facility was also clean and organized. There were several washers and dryers along with a table. Additionally, however, there were magazines and other items for guest to entertain themselves while they wait for their laundry.
If magazines aren’t your thing, maybe the benefits free wi-fi offers are. We found the wi-fi and off-air TV provided by the park was great after a long day in Mesa Verde National Park. Of course, the air conditioning courtesy of our full hook up site was nice too! Our site was a ways from the main building, so our TV stations weren’t great, but sites closer to the office loved them.
Another example of the park owners care for their guests was the sink and wash station by the tent sites. Our site was close by the tent sites, and I can tell the tenters loved having running water and a sink close at hand. A great feature! Speaking of water, Mesa Verde has two hot tubs and a swimming pool! All of them were spotless and inviting after a hot day at the park.
Last but not least, having propane available seemed very convenient. Not only did they have the 10lb tanks available, they also had a large tank for refilling. We didn’t need any while we were there, but I would have most definitely filled there versus driving the 10 miles back to Cortez CO if I did.
Mesa Verde RV Resort has 75 RV sites, two cabins, and a tent area for visitors. The Premium Back-In spots offered great shade and full hook-ups whereas the premium pull throughs offered no shade. The rest of the full hookup pull-throughs and water/electric only pull-throughs had great shade, a picnic table, and fire rings. Side note…you also have the option of renting a propane fire ring from the office if that is more your style.
Prices range from a high of $125 per night for the Park Model Cabin which sleeps six; to the tent sites which run at just over $28 per night. Premium Pull Though sites run $44.95 per night and your standard full hook up sits are $40.95 per night. These prices are accurate at the time of this post so please check their website for up to date pricing.
As we strolled through the resort, we were taken back by how clean all of the sites were. Just an extremely well-maintained park full of happy visitors. Several folks were sitting in the shade of the trees at their sites sipping wine or firing up the grill. Kids were seen and heard playing on the playground, and birds were singing in the trees.
We have no doubt if we are in the area again we will stay in Mesa Verde RV Resort. The combination of caring owners, amenities, and overall calming aesthetics make this a resort a must add while planning your visit to the Four Corners Region!
